Safely tucked away from the noise and bustle of Kampala’s heat and traffic is Nyanja Restaurant at Speke Resort Munyonyo.
The restaurant is a quiet, well-spaced place with a serene environment to match. The green gardens are surrounded by tall palms that graciously swing to give that rich people-soothing breeze. My heart was captured.
To experience Speke Resort’s cuisine to the fullest, I strongly suggest that you stay the weekend.
They have an all-round menu and various options for you to choose to dine from, for everyone regardless of your class.
Speke Resort gives you the comfort with over 5 dining options, Nyanja Restaurant being my favourite. Situated right next to the hotel’s lobby, you get to enjoy meals from the Continental or Asian cuisine menus as you gaze at the lake shore and the large ornamental pond and take in the cool breeze.
The Speke menu caters for the kids and the much older ones with assorted breads, and exquisitely prepared breakfast dishes that will leave you spoilt for choice, and mouth-watering main courses. (I must say I think the hotel mastered the art of Chicken Tikka which was my first choice for the night we checked in).
For a more intimate setting, choose from the Royal Club, Calabash, The Stables or the Lake Grill. If you prefer the comfort of your room, there is an in-room dining provision (which is a 24 hour service by the way). You could also decide to dine at the Viking Bar as you catch a soccer game or a boxing match. It is all up to you.
For one who doesn’t necessarily have a sweet tooth, my friends would not believe how much of the dessert I was eating by the end of the weekend! The starters are filling, and by the time the main course was served, part of me wanted to opt out. Nonetheless the food is bae. I loved the variety and details given to each of the dishes served even to those as little as pickles.
The staff take their time to ensure your orders meet or even surpass your expectations so you are guaranteed healthy and tasty options to choose from. I would totally recommend Speke for your wedding. Your guests would be thankful.
I could go on but if you are to forget anything I said, remember that food at Speke is carefully and intentionally prepared to give you not only a wide range of choice but a great value for your time and money.
So for that weekend getaway with the girls, or a business retreat, I strongly advise that you utilize Speke’s full board weekend offers ( https://bit.ly/2S4NtdZ )and have enough time to tick off your favorite dishes from the hotel’s scrumptious cuisines
